Timothy J. McManamon, CPA/ABV, CVA Executive Managing Director

Mr. McManamon has spent over 30 years in public accounting serving individuals and closely-held businesses.  He started his career with Ernst & Ernst, the predecessor of Ernst & Young.

 

Mr. McManamon has worked with contractors of all types.  Among other things, he acts as a facilitator in strategic planning sessions, a tax advisor on complex transactions, as well as a management advisor, frequently working with contractors on matters of tax strategies, construction claims, financial and business planning and business valuations. 

 

His business valuation practice covers a broad range of industries, most notably construction, but also including service-related, manufacturing, health care, and distribution.  Mr. McManamon has been a trusted advisor called upon numerous times to consult and negotiate purchases and sales of privately-held businesses.

 

Mr. McManamon is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), the Surety Association of Northern Ohio, the American Institute of Contractors, and Board Member of the Village Foundation, a not-for-profit community fund in Bay Village, Ohio.  He is also a member of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.

 

 

Kevin M. Krantz, CPA, MT
Director of Tax Services

Kevin's expertise is centered on our core competencies; individual and business tax, with expertise in the qualified retirement plan design and tax law area.  He works in all areas of tax including research, compliance, planning, audit representation, cost segregation studies, and business research credits.

He received his bachelors' degree in accounting from the University of Akron in 1986, and then completed his Masters of Taxation in 1995.

 

In addition to our client's tax practice matters, Kevin will deliver general business advice to our client base covering operational structure, internal controls profitability analysis and also will be involved in litigation support activities to the legal community.

 

Kevin's typical business client has $5-$50 million in sales and is closely held; works in varied industries including manufacturing, construction, distribution, and professional services.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Douglas S. Novotny, CPA  

Tax Manager

 

Doug’s expertise is centered on our core competencies; individual and business tax.  He works in all areas of tax including research, compliance, planning, audit representation, S corps and business research credits.

  

Doug graduated from Cleveland State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in accounting.  He has been in public practice for over 25 years, providing tax services to clients in a variety of industries.

 

Donna J. Ziehm, CPA 

Audit Supervisor

    

Donna is a graduate of Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. She is a certified public accountant with 10 years experience in public practice.  Donna has extensive audit and financial reporting experience.  Her responsibilites include planning, coordinating and supervising audits and financial reporting engagements.  She has a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP requirements.  Her areas of audit specialization include the construction industry and employee benefit plans.   

    

Donna also provides tax compliance services to both businesses and individuals.  In addition, Donna works closely with corporate accounting professionals helping them maintain internal accounting systems.

    

Donna regularly attends continuing education programs in all areas of service.  She is a member of The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the AICPA.  Outside the office, she serves on the Finance and Audit Committees at Fairview Grace United Methodist Church.

 

  

 

Lynna Donofrio, CPA

Senior Associate - Audit & Accounting

 

Lynna is a Senior Associate for the auditing and the small business services departments.  In addition to audit and review services, Lynna provides technical assistance to our clients in accounting system consultation and training, general accounting, taxation, consulting and special project engagements.

 

Lynna graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree of Accounting at the University of Akron.  She also holds three Associates Degrees, including one in Business Administration.  She has worked in the accounting field since 1993. 

 

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accounts.

 

  

Maria C. Nosse, CPA

Associate - Accounting

  

Maria is working in the small business department where she is excited to get to know and work with McManamon & Co.’s clients. She will provide guidance and assistance with general accounting and is quickly becoming proficient in QuickBooks.

 

Maria attended the University of Cincinnati where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in accounting in 2004. A year later she graduated magna cum laude with her Master of Science in Accounting. While in Cincinnati she focused on individual taxation, but quickly returned to Cleveland to sit for the CPA Exam, which she successfully passed last fall. Currently, she looks forward to obtaining enough public experience to qualify for her CPA certification; and, McManamon & Co. definitely has experience to offer her. She is excited for this opportunity with McManamon & Co. to learn and grow as a professional.

 

 

  

Joelle Olszewski 

Associate - Accounting

    

Joelle is a staff accountant for the small business services. Ms. Olszewski provides technical assistance to our clients in general accounting, taxation and payroll taxes. Her professional responsibilites at McManamon & Co include accounting, taxation, outsourced accounting, QuickBooks, consulting and special project engagements.

 

Joelle graduated in May 2004 from Duquesne University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. She had a few years experience at a public accounting firm in Pittsburgh, PA. and recently decided to move to the area. Joelle is currently studying for the CPA exam.  

 

  

  

 
Jane O'Malley Wagner
Firm Administrator and Accounting Associate
 
Jane oversees our Firm’s day-to-day office and financial administration matters. Her duties encompass all matters pertaining to firm administration and firm finances, working closely with the Executive Managing Director of the firm.
 
In addition, Jane provides accounting services under our Small Business Services Division providing quality service to our small business clients, including assistance in general accounting and administration of payroll tax regulations. She has additional skills in controllership functions for our clients’ needs, including outsourced bill pay and accounting functions, payroll and payroll tax management. Jane handles a multitude of client-related needs across several industries. She works directly with our associates and client accounting personnel fulfilling their day-to-day business needs.   She is experienced with many accounting software packages, including a strong background in Peachtree.
 
Prior to joining our firm, Jane was a finance director and controller/business manager for a medical publishing and conference company for almost 20 years. Jane is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. 
 
 
    

 

 

Mary A. Ptacek 

Technology Specialist

 

As manager of the Firm’s information technology and communications systems, Mary provides her technology skills and expertise to our associates, as well as our clients as it pertains to client data transfer and communications.  Her responsibilities include hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, disaster recovery planning, research, and staff technology training. She also keeps the Directors and staff up to date with the industry’s latest technological developments.

 

Mary has been instrumental in assisting the Firm with its “paperless office” implementation, most recently through the setup and support of our secure Client Web Portals and the paperless exchange of data with clients and other outside professionals and vendors.

 She adds value to the firm through her extensive background in information technology and administrative support and stays current by attending various seminars and workshops.

  

Mary Kowski

More than just our receptionist, Mary is our client relationship manager accommodating our clients and visitors with the appropriate professional care. Additionally, she treats the staff as her “internal clients” providing them with the administrative support they need to provide superior service to our clients. Mary is vital to the day-to-day operation of the office, assisting in the processing of financial reports, tax returns, correspondence, and marketing materials. She maintains the client database and the firm website and enhances the role of the executives of the firm by managing their calendars and scheduling appointments. Her knowledge, skills and professionalism contribute to the team’s efforts to ensure quality service to our clients.
 
Mary has several years of diverse administrative experience working with many different Cleveland area companies and has attended seminars to enhance her professional development, including inter-personal and technological skills.
